The results of 4th International Roca Design Contest are about to come out. Ron Arad, the presiding judge of the competition will be presenting the award to the winner in the first week of November in the famous New Roca London Gallery. The prestigious award is given to those budding designers who design things with an element of eco friendliness and sustainability. The fourth edition of competition this year, organized by Roca and BCD, received a record number of 3004 entries from 92 countries. The jury has so far chosen 11 finalists and the winner will be announced in autumn of this year in London. Out of the 11 finalist entries one is BATH 2.0 by Roca. The comprehensive bath aims at saving space by combining various functions vertically and saving water by using recycled water.
The bathroom has been designed by Fabrizio Tozzoli and Eliana Salazar. The various essential components of a bathroom like toilet, washbasin are all installed vertically in the Roca 2.0 and they all rotate on the main structure with the help of an electric system. A water purifying tank has been installed which purifies water used in shower and washbasin and make them usable for toilet and other cleaning purposes of the home.
When water is used in this way, it can help you save as much as 50 percent water on a daily basis. The purifying tank can store as much as 230 liters of water which is sufficient for a family of three persons.
The sanitary functions of the bathroom can be used by selecting function of your choice from the control panel. The main body of the bathroom has two retractable taps installed, out of which one is for drinkable water and can be used for bathing, cleaning of teeth etc and the other one is for recycled water, meant to be used in the toilet.
