Eco-friendly wine cellars made of recycled old wine barrels

What better way to prove your concern for the planet Earth than recycling something to come up with something creative. In California, about 200,000 wine barrels are retired each year with most of them destined for landfills. Savante Wine Cellars founder Darryl Hogeback recycles the wood into custom wine cellars. Handcrafted using mortise and tenon construction (no nails, staples or screws), he created the Stave Oak collection. Only ingenious mind like Darryl could come up with the idea of giving another life to the barrel that once served you the perfectly aged glass of Pinot.
