Firms are acting smart in meeting the particular needs of people. And now, Cambridge Design Partnership comes up with an innovative food system that has specifically been made to target the elderly people. This food system named 'Naturally' caters to older people who want to keep themselves quite comfortable with the cooking procedure while not compromising on the taste and nutritional aspect of their food intake.

One in every ten elderly persons in the UK has been found to be having lower nutrition levels than the average. This product has been designed keeping in mind this section of the people who find serving a platter rather a tedious task. The idea is to bring to the table a mini kitchen so that the effort in relishing a delicious and healthy platter is minimized to the maximum. A healthy lifestyle is needed by the elder people to cater to their physical and aesthetic wellness. With this innovative concept, elder people may have a reason to smile.
In “Naturally”, the food system can be divided into two parts. In one part (which can also be used to serve food later) all the raw materials are to be put. The second part is the application to prepare the meal automatically. To use the food system, you have to select the food and put in water to the level already indicated in the appliance. Thereafter, you can place the bowl containing the ingredients with the main unit and start the machine. The elevated technological input ensures that food is cooked automatically and the user is aware of the time schedule while cooking.
Naturally is potentially different and way above the normal re-heating systems which cannot actually cook food from the raw materials themselves. The food prepared here is supposed to be high in nutrition and can be altered according to the needs of the user to bring out the best taste. Naturally provides a simple and safe method of cooking the traditional recipes which the elderly are so fond of. With declining energy levels leading to reduced efficiency, Naturally can be proved to be a worthy companion for such people. The product can find applicability with other groups of people as well considering the hassle-free design and technology built within. Cambridge Design Partnership has made this product in line with its quest for providing technical excellence and winning innovation awards.
In the words of Robert Curtis, the person who has designed Naturally, “Neither microwaveable nor frozen dinners can replace the ritual and experience of cooking from fresh ingredients nor the nutritional value. Research has shown that for elderly consumers the sensory experience of cooking from fresh ingredients contributes to increasing an appetite, which naturally reduces with age and eventually contributes to the risk of malnutrition. This is why we worked hard on the whole product experience with ‘Naturally’.”
