CES 2008: Samsung showcases Prototype of 31-inch OLED TV

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd of Korea showcased its prototype of a 31-inch organic EL TV for the first time at the CES 2008. This prototype uses an organic EL panel manufactured by Samsung SDI Co Ltd of Korea and is less than 20mm in thickness. According to the company, this prototype is equipped with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, with its luminance level and color reproducibility higher than those of the 1-inch thick 25-inch LCD TV. The company also displayed a prototype of a 14-inch organic EL TV at the CES 2008 in addition to its 31-inch model; however the time of its commercialization is yet to be decided.
