It's fall time and soon winters would be upon us; a time to get indoors and set those stoves on again. Antonio Citterio designed a terrific wood-burning stove but the problem was that it was available only in Europe. Not anymore though.

The winner of German Red Dot Design Award '06, this stove has been made available in the US, all thanks to Wittus Fire. Alice Wittus, the company's vice president, saw this stove on a trip to Europe and vowed to make it available for the Americans. After getting it rated for safety by U.L. and U.L.C., the company has done away with the need for importing it from Germany at buyer's risk.
A contemporary version of the old-fashioned wooden stove, Citterio's creation is all elegance and at the same time retains a minimalist look. The matte black steel exterior is geometric and brings warmth to your living-room. The slender legs are in a contrast to the upper body of the stove. It is also available in an extended table version. The latter version has a cozy seating available to sit next to the glowing fire.
The Shaker wood-stove costs $4,280 and the one with the bench costs $4,780.
