The other day, at a restaurant near my workplace, the waiter gave me a pleasant surprise with a glass of freshly filtered water that was enhanced with salts and minerals, then and there, in front of my eyes with the Sweden-made Nordaq Water Filtration System( a 2003 venture of the proprietor of Acquapal). This filter works on the aspects like bacterial infestation, presence of impure elements, discoloration, peculiar tastes, VOC and PAH, and delivers pure water. The water tasted like never before and I felt my energy and freshness levels really rising. Fresh water, like freshly cooked food ,has its own advantages.
I am not really convinced about the quality of bottled water. I am not saying that all bottled water is impure, but nowadays, a lot of inferior quality of water sells as pure and healthy bottled water. The first problem is that many vendors are filling in cheap, unfiltered ordinary water under the name of pure water and selling them. If one forgets to crush the disposable container after use, some urchins are fast enough to take those bottles, fill them up with unfiltered water and put a fake purity seal.
Even for the newly packed bottles from the company, it should be remembered that usually a considerable amount of time passes between the time the water is purified, packed and the time it is consumed. The time taken in shipping the water bottles from one place to another is also considerable. In such a case, even though the company guarantees freshness, the quality does undergo some deterioration owing to the growth of pathogenic microorganisms or change in composition due to storage. The next thing is, prolonged contact with the material of the bottle or the container might itself cause some unhealthiness to creep into the water. Moreover, during shipping the product, the exposure to different external conditions like sunlight, temperature variations etc. reduce the purity of bottled water. Last but not the least, bottled water tends to be costlier owing to the shipping charges.
I am a bit fastidious about the quality of water I consume. This is because, water is a vital life saving and sustaining drink. In fact it is more important for the survival of a human being than food.
