Five reasons to fall in love with your conservatory

A growing number of home owners are installing conservatories these days, and there are so many good reasons to do so. For many people, a conservatory acts as something of a sanctuary from the chaos that is often found in other parts of the house. Sometimes it’s almost impossible to put a price on peace and quiet.

Conservatories, whether large or small, serve as an additional room in the home, and as such they need to be viewed as something of a bonus. For this reason, more than any other, your conservatory should be a place that brings you pleasure as and when you spend time there. In short, you need reasons to fall in love with the place.

Decorate to YOUR tastes

In more formal rooms in the home, you may feel bound by so-called ‘normal’ conventions when you are decorating, but in the conservatory you can be a little more flamboyant and a lot more personal from the start. Basically, you can do just what you feel here, so check out the brighter colours on the paint chart, for example.

Make the little touches really count

Personalising the conservatory will always help to make it a more welcoming environment for you, so make sure you incorporate your favourite things into the design. Add a few mementoes from previous holidays, for example, as well as some of your most loved family photographs. The choice, as always, will be entirely yours.

Your environment, your music

If your conservatory is to be used as somewhere to escape to, the last thing you want is a blaring TV set that’s constantly on. Music and entertainment are important here, however, so it’s a good idea to include a radio or MP3 player ready for your use. At times a little pleasant music in the background can add to the peace.

Spend quality time in this little paradise

Sometimes the allure of a conservatory can depend on what you do while you’re in one. Therefore, be sure to relax here as often as you can. A cup of tea and a good book on a Sunday afternoon can become a highly enjoyable ritual, and when you entertain friends here it will evolve into an even more pleasant environment.

Take in the views and enjoy!

If you get a chance to spend time in your conservatory during the day, while away an hour once in a while by simply looking out to the garden. Nothing beats a view of some lovely greenery, especially on a summer afternoon when the skies are blue. If possible, have a bird-feeder close by so you can watch our feathered friends at work.
