Gluck+ designs unique Tower House for modern day romantics

In the modern times, towers have certainly gone out of vogue
what with women’s rights and human rights in general dissuading people from
holding others in captive in these building. The unavailability of dragons to
guard these towers has also contributed to them going out of vogue with
oppressive captors.

That being said, the architectural novelty of such buildings
is still not lost on architects that want to show off their technical
capabilities and their ability to create a stunning structure using the bare
minimum resources. One such project is the Tower House that has been created by
the architectural firm Gluck+.

The unique home is located in Upstate New York and is
surrounded by thick forestry that provide an ample landscape for the
structure. It is designed to allow as much natural daylight into the
home as it possibly can get with the thick trees around it.

To prevent walls
from obstructing daylight, the architects have given the tower huge glass
walls. These walls also reflect the green surrounding which only creates a
mini-mirage of extra greenery in the area. The tower is designed to blur the
line between what is natural and what is artificially erected.

That being said, Gluck+ wanted to ensure that their
ambitious Tower House remains as eco friendly as possible to minimize the
actual impact of the artificial structure that does lie within a forest.

To ensure
that the home does not interfere too much with the ecology of the locale, the
house was given three storeys instead of adding too many rooms horizontally.

With
tiny private suites being preferred over more spacious ones, each of the three
floors have been given a bath and a bedroom along with wall to floor glass
windows that allow the inhabitants of the house to soak in the lush view around
them.
