Nothing but the best or why bother – is Ivan Messer’s motto. The 51-year-old money manager from Coral Springs, Fla. spent five years and a million dollars putting together a home theater. The amazing home theater boasts of 14 speakers, 16 amplifiers, 10-ft. (3 m) screen or $60,000 overhead projector and 400 amps of current. The setup consumes more power than all the other gadgets of the house put together. But the designer is as proud of his creation as ever. While talking about the amazingly life-like picture quality of the setup, he says,

You could get seasick watching Master and Commander in my theater.

The gizmo-freak can’t help boasting about the McIntosh name that is associated with each of his 100 audio gears, on which he spent $800,000. He started collecting exorbitantly expensive McIntosh products about 20 years back, when he felt he could afford them. He unhesitatingly proclaims his faith in McIntosh,

If there were another brand better, I would get it, but 90% of what McIntosh makes is the best in its class.

Messer has also added video equipments worth $125,000 and spent $80,000 on softwares which includes a Hollywood-rivaling 6,000-strong Blu-Ray, DVD and CD collection.
