Designer Jeremy Petrus, in partnership with Italian bike saddle maker Selle Royal has created a perfect ‘mishmash’, which he calls ‘Ride A Bench’. As the name suggests, Petrus has designed a bench whose major elements are bi-cycle seats.
Featuring a basic structure made of steel and colored in green, the bench has cycle seats for both back rests and for sitting. The designer says his desire to marry ideas or products that had some influence on him as he kept graduating on life has led to the creation of this innovative seating arrangement.
Making optimum use of the given resources, the ‘Mishmash’ is created combining two different designs, the ‘marshmallow’ sofa by George Nelson and the ‘sella’ stool by Castiglioni.
The seating arrangement has created more to meet the functional needs of seating than focusing on comfort or luxury. The mishmash can best be part of public areas such as parks and bus stops offering seating for a minimal time period.
