LIFT food manager lets you minimize food wastage

For people living in the cities, managing the food in their kitchen is a troublesome routine. With choices in consumer products growing by the day even the simple act of buying groceries requires analysis and planning and should you happen to venture into a grocery store of a supermarket without a shopping list you’re sure to get lost or get a headache and the chances of you buying things you don’t even need shoots up quickly. What’s worse is that more often than not we cannot be less bothered about reading the labels on the food we buy and end up with products that are close to their expiry date. To help people with hectic lifestyle, designer Pedro Toda has created the Electrolux LIFT Food Manager Concept.

LIFT food manager

The Electrolux LIFT Food Manager Concept is designed to make grocery shopping and domestic food management super easy for people who don’t have time to read labels, but still want to shop intelligently. The food manager serves three basic functions- it acts like a barcode scanner and label reader, it serves as a mobile scale and it also serves as an intuitive smartphone-like device. As a barcode and food label scanner, the Electrolux LIFT Food Manager Concept allows users to obtain nutrition facts and expiration dates by simply scanning the barcode or the food label. So if you’re looking for foods that are high in protein, for example, you can simply scan the labels of a few products and the device can then give you a comparative reading of which product is better suited to your requirement.

As a scale, the Electrolux LIFT Food Manager Concept allows users to accurately measure the weight of certain foods, dairy products and cuts of meats and fish. As a personal digital assistant, the Electrolux LIFT Food Manager Concept allows users to set pre-programmed shopping lists so they don’t end up buying anything they don’t need. The Electrolux LIFT Food Manager Concept also serves as a food items organizer and can tell you what you already have stored in your kitchen and fridge and what food items you are running out of. By using the device, you never stock up more food than you need and can rest assure that you only buy and eat the freshest product possible.
