Light up your life with ‘Goodbye Edison’ lamps

Fed up of seeing the bulb wedged on your walls and piercing your eyes with its strong glare? French company, “Goodbye Edison” is here to revive your lighting experience. Deciphering the name gives an idea that it’s time to swap the archetypal Edison bulb with something subtle. A graduate from the Royal College of Art, London designer Fx Balléry has tried to explore the ability of LED sources to spread brightness which is much softer and indirect.

Black matt and glossy white LED 24 V having dimensions of 23 x 13 cm / h 39 cm, with a framed table lamp in aluminum spread light on the wall in an indirect way. The up table lamps have dimensions, up600: 20cm x 20cm / h 67cm. and up400: 14cm x 14cm / h 47cm. respectively. Whereas with steel base and an aluminum diffuser, the parallelepiped table/desk lamps come in two sizes, Fine 600: 63cm x 10cm / h 35cm. and Fine 400: 35cm x 13cm / h 45cm. On display at Maison Et Objet, they definitely live up on the style meter and are a great respite from traditional lighting methods.
