If you are tired of whistling your lungs out when taking a pee, lest somebody comes in. Well, then this ‘bright’ innovation from Brighthandle is just for you.
Brighthandle, a company based in Sweden, is engaged in making –no prizes for guessing– door handles. It makes no ordinary door handles but ones that change color depending on whether the rooms are empty or occupied. The history of Brighthandle can be traced back to 2001 when Alexander Lervik, lead designer and co-founder of Brighthandle came up with the idea to create a door handle that communicates with colored light.
The door handle, which glows at its end, is designed to be a privacy knob. It changes color from red (when room is occupied) to green (when empty.) The light automatically changes at the thumb turn. When the room is unoccupied, it has a continuous green glow. This would be especially useful in room sharing arrangements.
So throw out your DO NOT DISTURB signs and get an illuminating handle.
The only downside to the amazing innovation is its installation, which requires Power to be supplied with wires directly in the door. However, there are variants, which can be powered through battery.
