Pastry shaped sleeping bags are a foodie’s delight

We have, at one time or another in our lives, been so in
love with a favorite food that we dreamt of visiting a fantasyland where we
could live in a house made of the food item and sleep on beds made of the same.
Most of these fantasies are of course fueled by remnants of the story of Hansel
and Gretel that our parents read out to us at bedtime.

While most of us get over that childhood fantasy and grow up
dreaming of beds with 8 inch thick orthopedic mattresses and Egyptian cotton
sheets, there are some for whom the entire “sleeping on food” fantasy never
dies. This mail order company based in Japan (where else!) called Felissimo
actually turns those foodie fantasies into real life beds.

Sadly, instead of
using real foods to create these astonishingly detailed sleeping bags, the company
simply uses their shape. Incredibly lifelike and convincing, popular sleeping bags
from the company include ones named and shaped like “Cream Pocket Bread”, “Chocolate
Nap”, “Japanese Cushion Bread” and “Goodnight Desert Omelette” (whatever that
tastes like!).

The ones which are inspired by food that would typically be
filled with jam get the exact look via brown and red blankets placed inside
them. The sleeping bags are priced at JPY16,000 (approximately USD162) each.
