Art Deco-inspired Manhattan apartment

She loves to look at people’s houses and how they put their things together! Madonna shows her penchant towards a world that extends beyond music, a world providing a temporary escape from the exhausts, a world full of glamorous sanctuary and this world is no other than her paradise, the Manhattan’s apartment. Designed by Christopher G. Ciccone, her younger brother, the apartment though was build in late nineties but has a never ending glory and that to some of the interiors like of the kitchen and the hallways seems to have timeless and virgin beauty. From music to design, Madonna is a preserver. The “go big or go home” attitude of her has inspired many people. Now moving to the features and other specifications of the Manhattan’s apartment, we encounter the under mentioned things.

Price

Madonna Mansion is estimated to be an asset of more than $30 million. The singer has invested US $40 million on the Geogerian style mansion in the posh upper east area of NYC. Now the estate insiders reveal that the cost of her property is US $32.5 million.

Size

The listing records that the house has 26 glamorous rooms, including a 38-foot-wide elegant drawing room and 13 big bedrooms. It consists of 9 fireplaces all total, 11-foot ceilings and, in the front that is the exterior side, a 3,000-square-foot garden. If the house isn’t big enough but beautiful enough, its size is supposed to be doubled under current and new version zoning.

Place

The mansion is situated at 152 E 81st Street about 3 blocks east of Central Park. The location is quite a posh area in the upper west side of Manhattan in New York City.

Overview

It was featured in Architectural Digest back in the early 1990s. Ciccone, the designer, had a dream to create an apartment in New York and execute a place in NYC. He ended up building a place that is peaceful, elegant and resourceful for his sister Madonna. The apartment had three separate units the first apartment was bought by Madonna and Sean in which there was a living room, a dining, a small kitchen and two small bedrooms. Then the second one was purchased after the divorce, and a third one which consists of the back sitting room and the bathroom was purchased a few months after the second one. So the most challenging task was to renovate it in such a way they appear to be a unite one. All the major design decisions were virtually made by Ciccone , with agreement with Madonna once a week . It was carried out by an architect Stephen Wang, of the New York firm Procter. The style that emerged is an elegant early classic Art Deco look.

Interior

The mansion is truly turned to be incredible and indescribable. Words will eventually fall short while explaining the interior. Moving from the entrance to the hallway we discover that there are numerous vintage prints which include Nude, by George Platt Lynes and some of a series of nude distortions created by André Kertész. Off the hallway is a guest bedroom, with marvelous lighting almost tracing the perimeter of the bed in the room. The living room is a comfortable alloy of dark blue stuffs, deep purples artifacts and some mossy greens. Four paintings by Tamara de Lempicka are owned by her, which depict female figures against patterns of geometry, and the room thus reflects that angled elegance. So the arts in the apartment are considered to be its keys to it. In her office, one could admire the Picasso over her desk. She keeps it during faxing things. One can easily imagine how interesting will be the faxing with a personal Picasso?

With some fresh coat of paints and some strategic furniture renovation, this apartment could be a more legendary, modern space with an Art Deco vibe and a classic elegant architectural touch. But some of the older pieces, the specialist carpets and the artifacts, are truly incredible. Some of the furniture, especially in the drawing room, is a bit too classic but still it has its own unique beauty that adds glory to the mansion and a sense of revival of past.

Exterior

Exterior Lighting Design features the amazing views specially at night. The house is a made of mid-century minimalist design with a contemporary exterior. The outdoor living space is quite usual in this area but still it is connected to the landscape as well as to the sky. Other exterior include garden bordered by tall trees and rose plants and many other floras, and the double-car garage facility also add to the exterior design. The giant gate and the pathway to the entrance of the mansion also encounter many amazing features.

Thus the whole of the Manhattan apartment is encoded with beautiful art deco that signifies something unique. A small lamp kept at the corner changes the whole structure of the room, and a small painting transforms the room. Madonna reverses her rights to do the changes.
