Playbe – a name that might keep you thinking – is a space concept that can be used in several different ways. The project can be utilized as a relaxing space, a gymnasium, a physiotherapy room, as well as a bathroom. Playbe has been designed in such a manner that it cannot be solely called a bathroom. It can be used in several ways to suit many purposes. Its design is such that people of all age groups and physical states can use it comfortably without exerting themselves at all. What can be more innovative that a concept that enables comfortable usage to the young and the old as well as to the fit and the lazy.
The designer, Filipa Mendes, left the concept’s purpose open to user needs. She wanted to design an application that is multipurpose and not just confined to one single function. Thus, in order to design the Playbe, she explored ways in which a space is generally used by most people. With such an approach, she was able to discover more applications for the Playbe than she could imagine!
In designing each Playbe piece, the contrast effect of two different colors have been used. Natural shades like green have been combined with industrial shades like red, orange, etc. to give the Playbe a dynamic look
