Shifted Perspective Speakers will alter the way you see audio systems forever

Asmita Prasad . Dec 7 2011

So we know that you just spent a bundle on a pair of new Blaupunkts and you are in no mood to be told that there are speakers that can offer you the same quality of sound but also spruce up your place like a gazillion times better than the German brand, but we just had to tell you about this stunning new set of speakers that will literally change everything you know about audio system. OK so maybe it won’t change everything, but the Shifted Perspective speakers from Edmonton, Alberta-based designer Daniel Toumine and his collaborative partner on the project Christine Ho, will certainly change almost everything you’ve ever expected a sound system to look like.

The philosophy behind the highly unusual design of the speakers is to allow its audience to feel the otherwise singularly auditory sensation of listening to music via a visual portrayal of the process. Though the set of speakers do not physically display the movement of sound through space, they do allow users the unprecedented experience of having a hand held sound system that channels the vibrations of the music being played through the user helping them to feel the music more vividly.

Perfectly portable, the Shifted Perspective speakers are battery operated and can be connected to an audio system via a Wi-Fi connection. Two physical controls on the unit itself control the speaker unit and the speakers themselves come with a split volume button and a power button on them.
