VIIC: A plain looking chair that can be assembled and disassmbled like a burr puzzle

Petar Zaharinov has designed a chair conceived as VIIC, which has fetched heavy inspiration by interlocking burr puzzles. The industrial designer’s unique creation is a part of the ‘coordinate’ collection. The chair has been crafted using seven elements of plywood. The most striking feature of VIIC is that the chair can be assembled without using nails and glue, which will not only save additional energy but also the cost as well as materials.

The collection has been named ‘coordinate’ as the legs of the piece of furniture have to be moved together on the way till the center in the form of a coordinate motion fashion in order to assemble it. Sliding the legs together will bring the form to life, which will sprinkle a mystic appeal. The shape will remain stable when the structure is assembled and will not fall apart even if someone tries to fiddle with any of its parts. The top most portion of the design needs to be put into place only when both the E-shaped components are not very far away from each other.

The chair can be accessed from two sides. VIIC can seat two people at the same time and the shape creates an impression as if the backs of two chairs have been fixed to each other. The back is flexible and will make sure that nothing acts as a trouble where movement of body is involved. Both the sides are a mirror copy of each other, which gives the design a sense of uniformity. It has a plant oil finish and the natural look is very eye-appealing. VIIC has been crafted using natural, healthy and ecological materials that are not harmful at all. The chair will be fun to possess and can be easily assembled or disassembled just like a puzzle.
