Your wish is my command: Robotic buddies at your service

There comes a day in everyone’s life when he/she is sick of doing the same thing. I mean, if I am to cook food everyday, then I would die of boredom for sure. But, it is definitely fun to watch some robots at your home taking care of everything. Obviously, a machined human doing some work for you, will be amusing and relaxing. But, taking a serious perspective, are these machined humans really necessary for our existence? Apart from making our life convenient and providing some well deserved entertainment; these robotic things are just a liability for our future. However, an innovation is an innovation and it deserves an applause. Just scroll down to see 15 robotic buddies that help you with your daily household chores.

The most Advanced Humanoid Robot

ASIMO from Honda has been designed in such a way that it has the capability of performing all the tasks like humans do. It has been especially designed to provide help for all the tasks and also provide help for the elderly.

The Cook

HOAP-3 originally designed by Fujitsu has been taught to make an omelet by researcher Sylvain and his team. It’s internal memory stores all routines of making an omelet. But, wondering if it has the routine of making the omelet in Indian style with all the yummy spices and all.

Housekeeping Robot

ApriAttenda from Toshiba is a housekeeping robot that is capable of opening refrigerator doors and picking up boxes. In between, is that too much of a handwork to do yourself?

Robot for the Emergencies

uBot-5 is a robot, developed by researchers at the university of Massachusetts. This one I must say is quite relevant, as it will help the elderly in their homes. It is also capable of dialing the doctor’s number, in case anything goes wrong at home.

The Pancake Cook

Okonomiyaki robot from Toyo Riki Co not only prepares the batter for pan cake, but also cooks them for you. But, taking in consideration that it cooks only pancakes, it is quite a bulky investment.

Assistant for Home

Running on wheels, this Readybot prototype robot made to simplify your work by helping you put all dishes like cups, bowls and plates in the dishwasher and also cleans the house. Here I think its quite a nice investment, taking in consideration that it cleans the entire house. However, it would have been even better if it did the dishes too. It would have saved your electricity and water bills that goes in the running of dishwashers.

Robotic Table

From Laksmi-Do Corp, this robotic table does exactly the way it is told. It is perfect for any party that you plan to throw for your friends, as it is designed to serve your guests on two balanced wheels. However, even if does exactly the way it is told, then too I think the usual people who serve will be much better off, as they will rely on their five senses than just some data that is fed in this one.

The Dancing Robot

Roppie home service robot from the Industrial Technology Research Institute is specially deigned to take care of the elderly by undertaking all the tasks. In addition to this, it can also dance.

The Pet Robot

Aibo, the dog companion has been made by Sony. It is an Artificial Intelligence Robot that allows it top act like a real dog. It is able to understand 100 voice commands and can also be programmed, so that it can be taught new behaviors. Even if it can act like a real dog, it still can’t be infused with a real dog feeling. It surely lacks the moving eyeballs, the ability to lick your face when it receives you at the gate. May be we need this in million year to come, but definitely not any time sooner.

The Caring Robot

This Care-o-Bot is quite neat, as it is less prone to errors. It is capable of handling all human jobs. So, that day is definitely not far when ever house on your street, on the next street and on the next will be ruled by a robot.

The Kitchen Help

This kitchen robot has been developed by the professors at the Tokyo University. It is designed to do household chores like serving tea and doing the dishes. I really like it for the reason that it has been designed to provide help in the situations where you cannot. Obviously the human factor of EQ is missing, but it can definitely allow people to get back on their feet.

The Dish-washing Bot

From Panasonic, it is specially designed to help humans complete their household’s tasks easily. While doing the dish-washing it can do everything that a human washer can. For homes, definitely nice, but for commercial purposes, isn’t it trying to take over the jobs of thousands of human dishwashers.

The Home Maid

The robotic maid is capable of doing the laundry and performing other household tasks by just identifying the objects and obstacles.

The Assisting Robot

This robot is capable of picking things (which by the way can be done by you too on your way to office) and cleaning the floor. It was developed under a major venture between Masayuki Inaba’s team and Toyota.

Robotic Vacuum Cleaner

Fukitorimushi from Pnanasonic, does not resemble those robotic archetypes. This pillow like cleaner crawls on the floor and detect dirt with the help of its blue-white light. Then it cleans up with nano-cloth. Well, it definitely has an upper hand when it comes to other normal vacuum cleaner, but I am sure with this one you are going to get fat faster, as it will not let you do any work and you won’t burn any calories
